I built DeepL's motion standards from scratch, clear principles, reusable templates, and lightweight governance so every team could publish consistent, production-safe motion without coming back to me for every request.





Motion Principles


I defined three core animation principles for DeepL: Expressive, Precise, and Engaging. These became the shared language across design and motion — giving teams a framework to make consistent decisions independently, rather than case by case.




Logo Animation


I designed a logo animation built around a rotating cube,  each face carrying letters from different alphabets. As the cube turns, the faces converge to form DeepL's hexagon logo, revealing the multilayered language foundation behind the brand.

Templates & Publishing


I built reusable After Effects templates for common formats so teams could localize and update content without rebuilding animations. 10+ animation templates, covering the most common formats across product, marketing, and internal communications.

Photography Guidelines


Collaborated on defining DeepL's photography direction, contributing to the visual language for how people, environments, and product moments were represented across channels. Focused on ensuring photography and motion felt like one coherent visual system rather than two separate disciplines.

Adopted across the design and motion teams company-wide. Reduced routine design requests, improved turnaround, and gave DeepL a shared motion language that scaled without needing a motion designer in every room.
